Our Preschool Program: A Meaningful and Progressive Learning Journey

At Redhead Community Preschool, our aim is to provide learning that is meaningful, purposeful, and ongoing, a journey that supports long-term growth and development. We believe that every child’s progress matters, and we carefully observe, measure, and assess the distance they travel in their learning journey.

Every interaction, experience, invitation to explore, daily routine, and even unplanned moments within our environment are thoughtfully designed to foster, extend, and enrich each child’s learning and development. Our educators genuinely view every moment in the day as a valuable learning opportunity, understanding that children absorb and learn from everything happening around them.

To best support our children’s unique needs and developmental stages, we offer two distinct programs. This structure allows us to tailor learning experiences that are age-appropriate and promote success, building children’s confidence and encouraging their eagerness to engage in varied and challenging activities.

Program Structure:

• Monday/Tuesday Group: This group is designed for children beginning their preschool journey, typically aged three turning four. These initial sessions focus on building foundational skills and easing children into the preschool environment.

• Wednesday/Thursday/Friday Group: This group is for children in their second year of preschool, preparing to transition to Kindergarten the following year. These sessions build on earlier learning, offering more complex and enriching experiences to ready children for the next step in their education.

Our program spans two progressive years, providing continuity and growth. Children start in the Monday/Tuesday group in their first year and then transition to the Wednesday/Thursday/Friday group for their final preschool year. This carefully planned progression helps children develop at their own pace while preparing them confidently for school.

At Redhead Community Preschool, we are dedicated to nurturing curious, confident, and capable learners through every stage of their early education journey. School readiness at Redhead Community Preschool is not a set of activities that are added just in the year before children begin school. It is embedded in everything we do, from the very first day a child begins their preschool journey. We believe school readiness is a process, not a destination. It’s built gradually through everyday experiences, developing independence, social confidence, emotional resilience, communication skills, problem-solving, and a love for learning. Whether children are learning to take turns, manage their belongings, explore new ideas, or express themselves in creative ways, they are building the essential skills they’ll carry into their school years and beyond.
